How Do I Get Rid of Sun Spots & Fine Lines Without the Down Time?
I would like to have some of the fine lines and sun spots removed from my face. I saw another physician who recommended a full face laser resurfacing but showed me the horrible pictures of a patient recovering a month later. I cannot take that much time walking around pink and healing – do you have a different option for me?

The recommended treatment depends on the degree of sun damage you have and your expectations. For patients with the most severe degree of wrinkling and sun damage, nothing but the deeper erbium or CO2 lasers will help – those procedures remove the outer layers of the skin and are performed by the surgeon in an operating room setting. However, for the majority of our younger and middle aged patients who have minimal or moderate sun damage, we do have less dramatic treatments that require a minimal or no down time after treatments, and these can safely be performed in our laser suite but our specially trained registered nurse, Tracey Prescott. Micropeels with the erbium laser effortlessly ablate the outermost layers of the skin in the office with a topical anesthetic. This procedure is tailored to the nature of the condition to be treated and is especially efficacious in removing fine lines and brown spots which were caused by the sun. Skin conditions such as wrinkles, scars, acne scars, keratoses, or pigmentary problems have been successfully treated with such laser treatments. We have been encouraged by the results experienced by many patients with regards to minimizing their perioral wrinkles, brown spots and broken facial capillaries. A series of these treatments will give you a gradual improvement over a period of time. You will experience smoother, healthier and more vibrant skin. Healing after treatment with his particular laser takes approx 3 to 5 days and the treatments are typically repeated 6 – 8 weeks apart. Please call us at (949) 888-9700 and ask the staff to arrange a complimentary consultation for you with myself and our laser nurse, Tracey Prescott. Another great idea would be to join Tracey and our medical aesthetician, Anne Floerchinger and the rest of the staff for a Champagne Breakfast/Brunch skin care event on Saturday, September 19th. Please call our office to reserve your spot as space will be limited! Laser Rejuvenation by Tracey Prescott, RN Now that the rush of summer is over and we should find some time in our busy schedule,

We have several lasers to help you here at Orange County Plastic Surgery and I’m the laser expert at our center. Let me tell you about our fabulous machines and the treatments we an offer – or come find out for yourself at our skin care event on September 19th.

Let’s now take a look at the IPL – Intensed Pulse Light – which provides us with another modality to treat brown spots and broken capillaries on your face. It is a safe and non invasive procedure. We have the most professional aesthetician who will perform a microdermabrasion to remove the most superficial keratin layer before the IPL treatment. I will then perform the IPL treatment. These treatments usually consist of a series of six sessions, administered three weeks apart. IPL technology creates a smoother-looking skin and results in a significant reduction in pigmentation. This can be used effectively on the neck, chest, arms and hands. Our patient satisfaction has dramatically increased since we began using the microdermabrasion before the IPL treatment.
The great news is there isn’t any down time with this treatment. Photo rejuvenation treats skin damage and provides gradual improvement with very low risk. Listed here are photographs of a forearm I treated with a series of IPL treatments. I have been fortunate to have attended many laser seminars, and have brought back the latest techniques to treat numerous skin imperfections. We also provide yag laser treatments for removal of unwanted hair and vascular lesions such as superficial veins on the legs, face or chest. We invite you to come in for a complimentary micro dermabrasion and consult with Dr. Bunkis, Anne our Aesthetician, or myself and allow us to present you with additional information upon your request.
