Thank you for selecting our practice! We look forward to serving your medical needs. To avoid confusion in the future, please take a few moments to review our fee policy.
The office staff can assist you with financing if desired. In compliance with suggestions adopted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, it is customary for the patient to pay all fees for cosmetic surgery prior to the desired operation. This insures that the patient is sincere in her motivation and can afford the surgery, thus creating a better patient/physician relationship. A non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your desired surgery date. The remainder of the fees must be paid prior to the surgery, usually at the time of the preoperative visit, but no later than one week before surgery. Please note that you will be given a best faith estimate of the surgical facility and anesthesia charges as well, but we do not control these fees, small differences may exist between the quoted amount and the amount you will be asked to pay the facility and anesthesiologist on the day of your procedure – you must bring your credit card, checkbook or cash to the surgical facility to take care of these fees on the day of your surgery. The surgery center accepts credit cards but the anesthesiologists only accept cashier’s checks or cash. Please note that you will also be responsible for other ancillary costs such as laboratory fees, and for all fees associated with secondary procedures, where applicable.
You are ultimately responsible for your medical bills, regardless of insurance coverage. As a courtesy to you, we can contact your insurance carrier in advance of surgery to request verification of your level of coverage, and if requested, will be happy to provide your insurance company with copies of operative reports or other required documents, but you will be responsible for all charges in advance of your surgery – you will be reimbursed by your carrier for the covered amounts. It is possible that your insurance carrier may refuse payment for all or part of your bill, regardless of prior “verification”. If this occurs, we will be happy to write an appeal letter to your carrier on your behalf, but the unpaid balance remains your responsibility.
We strive to provide you with excellent, first-class medical care. If you have any questions regarding our fees or services, please do not hesitate to ask.
Welcome to the OCPS Family!
